My name is Schiller J. Ambroise.  I am a retired educator of over 28 years.  For 20 of those years, I worked with students of Haitian descent teaching reading and math in Haitian Creole.  I am also fluent in French.  For years, I searched for educational resources for my students in their native language (Haitian Creole) and was unsuccessful.  I decided to create my own.  Over the years, I’ve been able to create over 100 tutorials in Haitian Creole and English for use in the classroom.  As I continue to expand the scope of the educational resources, I will add more academic skills to the site.  All tutorials will always be provided free of charge.

I also had the opportunity to work as an ESL-Bilingual instructional Coach for an urban district with a large English Language Learner population for six years.  I provide, on this website, many of the resources I used to assist teachers of Language Learners.  I created a Youtube Channel dedicated to assisting teachers of Language Learners.  It can be accessed here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCL_e48z694tw9bqI1mUbHjg

This site is for all individuals interested in acquiring valuable teaching skills focused on helping Language Learners.  It provides a free Sheltered Instruction Online Course, which can be used to satisfy the Sheltered Instruction training requirement for teachers.  Requirements may vary from state to state.  Feel free to contact us at schillerambroise27@gmail.com for more training options.

This website is also for students who speak Haitian Creole and need online math and reading resources in the native language.  Teachers and parents of those students may use the tutorials to assist them as they learn the secondary language.

Below are some online resources for more information on instructional strategies for Language Learners.

1) Bridging Refugee Youth & Children’s Services (BRYCS) is a national technical assistance program working to broaden the scope of information and collaboration among service providers in order to strengthen services to refugee children, youth, and their families. On this site, you will find guides for parenting in a new country, guides for discussing sensitive subjects with your children, free webinars, among other extremely useful articles and resources. Many of these resources are translated to several languages.
